Remembrances
Even though Denis was my godfather, he enjoyed looking after and spending time with all the nephews and nieces equally. We would just hang out at his house sometimes, exploring the barn and the basement, playing rolls of music on the player piano. He would take us on little trips to parks and open spaces, or sledding on a big hill near his house, sometimes with side quests to pick up furniture and other items he found on the side of the road. I was always impressed with how well he refinished and fixed the things he found. I still have an enamel top table that he gave me and a trunk or two.
