About

Jean Marie (the second) lives to be almost 60 years old, which must be rare for the 18th century. He marries a 15-year-old Marie Anne at age 26 and they have 10 children. We are not sure when his first son is born, but his second is only three years after the marriage. His fourth son, Francois, survives only a few months, and his fifth son, Joseph, only a few years. The remaining five children survive long enough to marry.

Notes

  • Date of birth — Some reference material has his date of birth as 25 September, 1740, but this is also the same date of birth as his father. This is likely due to the fact that they have the same name. The date we show above is from the “AFGS” “PRDH” database.
  • M. Anne Casavant — “St. Charles, Charlesboug,” is shown in Ilene Trainor email dated 8 March, 2011. However, Francois/Therese email dated 6 March, 2011 shows “St. Charles, St. Hyacinth County.” “St. Charles-sur-Richelieu” is from the “AFGS” “PRDH” database.
  • Children — As yet, (Generation 11.32) Marcel does not have complete information for children of Jean-Marie and Marie-Anne. The “AFGS” reference “Marriages of Richelieu County” provided dates shown above, but may not contain all children born to this partnership.
